EXCELLENT BACKGROUND
I am a jurist and international legal specialist with a particular interest in water, the environment, human rights, AI and a soft spot for general theory of international law. I am a lawyer (law degree from Universidad Católica Argentina in Buenos Aires) and I hold a Ph.D. and a Masters diploma in International Relations with a specialization in International Law (D.E.S.) from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (Geneva). I was a guest fellow at the Max-Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law (Heidelberg) and a doctoral scholar at the Hague Academy of International Law (The Hague). I also contributed as a specialist on water resources and international law at the Centre for Studies and Research of the Hague Academy of International Law and guest lectured at Golden Gate University (San Francisco) and University of California Santa Cruz (UCSC). In addition, I have published widely in varied areas of my field of expertise, mainly books on the subjects of international law and articles on the United Nations, international water law, international boundaries and Human Rights.
EXTENSIVE PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
My work experience ranges from academia, to the government and consulting for a wide variety of diverse actors. I was an Associate Professor of Public International Law at Austral University (Argentina) for 10+ years and worked as a Legal Counsel for the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Commerce and Cult. As a researcher, I have led multiple - and even award-winning - projects involving the foundations of international law, the law of treaties, international responsibility, international water law and Human Rights. Drafting arbitral awards for cases involving territorial questions, international administrative law and Human Rights alongside Professor Julio Barberis was an amazing opportunity to work on high-profile cases and learn the intricacies of international law from very early in my career. Consulting for international organizations, international development banks, mixed commissions of international rivers, arbitral tribunals, non-governmental organizations and communities has certainly provided me with a wide experience and versatility to adapt to different scenarios.
